A total of 549 vacancies are available for both Male and Female candidates across various sports disciplines.
This is a Non-Gazetted & Non-Ministerial post. The online application process begins on 27th December 2025 and will close on 15th January 2026. Candidates who have represented the country or state in recognized sports tournaments and have passed Matriculation can apply.

Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, ensure you meet the eligibility requirements for the BSF Constable (GD) post. The crucial date for determining age eligibility is 01 August 2025.

2. Educational Qualification
Candidate must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or its equivalent from a recognized Board.
3. Sports Qualification
Players who have participated or won medal(s) in the level of competition given below during the period from 15/01/2024 to 15/01/2026 will be considered:
- Individual Event (International/National): Medal winners or participants in International tournaments as a member of the Indian contingent recognized by IOC/IOA/MYAS. Medal winners in National Games/Senior National Championship/National Open Championship/Youth/Junior National Championship.
- Team Event (International/National): Participants or medal winners in International tournaments. Medal winners in National Games/Senior National Championship/National Open Championship, etc.

Application Process
The application for BSF Sports Quota recruitment must be submitted online.
Application Fee
- General / OBC: Rs. 159/- (Rupees One Hundred Fifty Nine only).
- SC / ST / Female: Exempted from fee payment.

Note: Weight should be proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
Medical Standards & Marking Scheme
1. Eye Sight
The minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without correction (i.e., without wearing spectacles or lenses).
- Visual Acuity (Near Vision): Better Eye N6, Worse Eye N9.
- Color Vision: CP III by ISIHARA.
- Must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, or squint in eyes.

Selection Process
The selection will be made on the basis of the following stages:
- Documentation: Verification of original documents/certificates regarding age, education, caste, and sports achievement.
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates will be measured for height, chest (for males), and weight.
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Selected candidates will undergo a thorough medical check-up to ensure fitness.
Note: There is no written examination. Marks are awarded based on the level of sports achievement (medals/participation).
Salary Details
The post of Constable (General Duty) under Sports Quota carries the following pay scale:
- Pay Matrix Level: Level – 3
- Pay Scale: Rs. 21,700 – 69,100/-
In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to other allowances admissible to Central Government employees such as Dearness Allowance, HRA, etc.
Tips & FAQs
Tattoo Policy
Tattoos depicting religious symbols or figures and the name, as followed in the Indian Army, are permitted. Tattoos marked on traditional sites of the body like inner aspect of forearm (but only left forearm, being non-saluting limb) or dorsum of the hands are allowed. Size must be less than 1/4 of the particular part (Elbow or Hand) of the body.
Important Tips
- Ensure your sports certificate is valid and falls within the date range: 15/01/2024 to 15/01/2026.
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the recruitment test.
- Candidates should bring original documents during the selection process.
