Common Eligibility Criteria
General Eligibility Conditions (for all female candidates):
- Gender: Only female candidates are eligible.
- Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, or B.Sc. Hons. Nursing.
- Must have completed the degree from a recognized institution with at least 55% aggregate marks.
- Registration:
- Must be a Registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM) with the Himachal Pradesh State Nurses Registration Council, Shimla or any other State Nursing Council.
- Work Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of work experience either before or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and after B.Sc. Nursing, calculated from the date of registration.
- Age Limit:
- No upper age limit as per INC Notification No. 11 of 2023 dated 21 August 2023.
In-Service Quota Eligibility (for Government Nurses):
- Must be a regular/contractual/ad-hoc nurse working in Govt. of Himachal Pradesh.
- Must have completed minimum 5 years of service by the last date of submission of the application.
- In-service candidates cannot apply to private colleges.
- Must submit Service Certificate and NOC as per Annexure-6 at the time of admission.
Direct Quota Eligibility:
- Open to Bonafide Himachali/Domicile candidates, or children/spouse of H.P. Govt. employees and employees of autonomous bodies funded by HP Government.
- Candidates must fulfill academic and registration criteria mentioned above.
- For Management Quota in private colleges, domicile is not required, and both Himachali and Non-Himachali candidates can apply.
General Selection Process

- 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Each question carries 1 mark
- No negative marking
- Medium: English
- Syllabus based on B.Sc. Nursing curriculum
- Merit List & Result Declaration
- Based purely on marks obtained in the entrance test
- Minimum qualifying marks:
- 50% for General & EWS
- 40% for SC/ST/PwD
- No minimum marks required for private colleges.

Resolving Ties in Marks
If two candidates score the same marks: - Higher marks in subject-wise sections of the test will be considered.
- If still tied, older in age will be given preference.
- Counselling Process
- Conducted through online centralized counselling by AMRU.
- Includes:
- Round 1
- Round 2
- Mop-Up Round
- Stray Vacancy Round (if needed)
- Seat allotment is done based on merit-cum-choice of the candidate.
- Original documents are verified at the time of admission in the allotted college.
