Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following criteria to apply for the 10+2 B.Tech Cadet Entry Scheme:

1. Age Limit

Candidates must be born between 02 Jan 2007 and 01 Jul 2009 (both dates inclusive).

2. Educational Qualification

  • Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from any recognized Board.
  • Must have at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
  • Must have at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

3. JEE (Main) – 2025 Requirement

Candidates must have appeared for the JEE (Main) – 2025 exam (for B.E/ B.Tech). The call-up for the Service Selection Board (SSB) will be issued based on the JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) – 2025 published by NTA.

4. Marital Status

Only Unmarried male and female candidates are eligible to apply.

Application Process

Candidates are to register and submit their application on the recruitment website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. Follow these steps:

  1. Registration: Register yourself on the official website if not already registered.
  2. Login: Login using your email ID and password.
  3. Fill Application: Click on “Current Opportunities” and select the “10+2 B.Tech” entry. Fill in your personal details, educational qualifications, and JEE Main 2025 details.
  4. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of:
    • 10th Class Certificate (Date of Birth proof).
    • 10th & 12th Class Marksheets.
    • JEE(Main)-2025 Score Card (indicating CRL).
    • Recent passport-size color photograph.
  5. Review & Submit: Check all details carefully. Once submitted, no changes can be made.
  6. Print: Take a printout of the application form for future reference and to carry to the SSB interview.

Exam Pattern (SSB Interview)

The selection process does not involve a traditional written exam by the Navy. Instead, candidates are shortlisted for the Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview based on their JEE (Main) rank.

SSB Interview Stages

The SSB interview is a 5-day process conducted in two stages:

  • Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT). Candidates failing Stage I are screened out on the first day.
  • Stage II:
    • Psychological Tests: TAT, WAT, SRT, SD.
    • GTO Tasks: Group discussions, group planning exercises, outdoor tasks, command tasks, etc.
    • Personal Interview: One-on-one interview with the Interviewing Officer.
    • Conference: Final assessment by the board members.

While there is no written syllabus, candidates should prepare for the following aspects of the SSB interview:

Selection Process

The selection process for the 10+2 B.Tech Entry Scheme involves the following steps:

  1. Shortlisting of Applications: Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to fix the cut-off for shortlisting applications for SSB based on JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) – 2025.
  2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will attend SSB interviews at Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, or Visakhapatnam starting from March 2026.
  3. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination.
  4. Merit List: A common merit list will be prepared based only on the marks obtained in the SSB interview.
  5. Appointment: Candidates declared fit in the medical exam will be appointed subject to police verification and availability of vacancies.

Salary & Training

Training

Selected candidates will be inducted as Cadets for the four-year B.Tech Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. Cadets are also provided with entitled clothing and messing.

Pay & Allowances

On successful completion of the course, B.Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Officers will be entitled to Pay & Allowances (starting at Level 10), Group Insurance, Gratuity, Leave Entitlements, etc., as per extant policy.
