The National Testing Agency (NTA), established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, conducts standardized tests for admission to premier higher education institutions. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) (PG) – 2026 is being conducted for admissions to Post Graduation (PG) programmes in Central and other Participating Universities for the academic session 2026-27.
The online application process for CUET (PG) – 2026 starts on 14 December 2025 and concludes on 14 January 2026. The examination is tentatively scheduled for March 2026. This test provides a common platform and equal opportunities for candidates across the country, ensuring a unified admission process.

Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, ensure you meet the eligibility requirements for the CUET (PG) – 2026. The crucial date for determining eligibility (age, qualification) will be specified in the official notification.
Educational Qualification
Candidates who have passed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent examination or are pursuing their Bachelor’s degree/equivalent examination and appearing in the Final Year in 2026, are eligible to appear in CUET (PG) – 2026.
Age Criteria
There is NO age limit for candidates appearing in the CUET (PG)-2026 examination.
However, candidates are advised to verify the age requirements of the specific university to which they wish to apply before submitting their applications, as these may vary.
Important Note on Eligibility
- For admission, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, age, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, and preferences of the respective University shall be applicable.
- Candidates are advised to visit the University website for their specific programmes’ eligibility criteria.
- Mere appearance in the Entrance Test does not guarantee admission unless programme-wise eligibility conditions of the University are fulfilled.
- Universities will conduct their individual counselling based on the score card of CUET (PG)-2026 provided by NTA.

Very Important: Applicants are advised to check the course, its eligibility, and subject code carefully from the NTA website as similar courses are being evaluated under various question paper codes by different universities. Applicants are solely responsible for choosing the correct question paper code as per the universities where admission is sought.
Application Process
How to Apply Online
Candidates must apply for CUET (PG) – 2026 exclusively through the online mode only on the NTA Website. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted. Ensure you fill out only one application form per candidate, using a unique mobile number and email address.
Steps to Apply:
- Step 1: Registration Form – Register on the Online Application Form to generate a system-generated Application Number. Create a password, choose a security question, and provide personal details. The Application Number and password will be used for future logins.
- Step 2: Application Form Submission – Log in with your Application Number and password to complete the form. This includes filling personal details, applying for desired papers (up to four test papers), choosing examination cities, and providing educational qualifications. Candidates must upload their live photograph, scanned images of photograph (.jpeg/.jpg), signature (.jpeg/.jpg), and PwD/PwBD Certificate (if applicable, .pdf format).
- Photograph: Recent, color or black & white, 80% face (without mask) visible, including ears, against a white background. Size: 10 kb to 200 kb.
- Signature: Scanned, clearly legible. Size: 10 kb to 50 kb.
- Disability/UDID Certificate: PDF format, clearly legible. Size: 50 kb to 300 kb.
- Important: Ensure correct photograph and signature are uploaded. Blurred or invisible images will lead to application rejection with no correction option.
- Step 3: Fee Payment – After completing Steps 1 and 2, pay the requisite examination fee online using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI Services. Processing charges and GST are additional. The Confirmation Page will only be generated after successful fee payment. Download, save, and print a copy of this page for future reference.

Exam Pattern
Mode of Examination
The CUET (PG)- 2026 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.
Medium of Question Papers (QP)
- Question Papers for most subjects will be Bilingual (English and Hindi).
- Papers for M. Tech/Higher Sciences will only be in English.
- Language papers will be in their respective language, except for Linguistics (English only).
- Acharya Papers will be in Sanskrit, except Hindu Studies (English & Hindi) and Indian Knowledge System & Baudha Darshan (trilingual: English, Hindi & Sanskrit).
- Note: For any discrepancies in question papers, the English version will be considered final, except for language papers.
Structure of Examination
- Choice of Question Paper Codes: Candidates may select up to FOUR question paper codes from the list provided in Appendix-II.
- Examination Duration: 90 minutes.
- Number of Questions: Each question paper will comprise 75 questions.
Marking Scheme
- Each question carries 04 (four) marks.
- For each correct response, candidates will get 04 marks.
- For each incorrect response, 01 mark will be deducted from the total score.
- No marks will be given for questions unanswered/unattempted/marked for Review.
- In case of discrepancies in question papers (except language and Acharya papers), the English version will be considered final.
- If more than one option is correct, +4 marks awarded to those who marked any correct option.
- If no option is correct, or a question is wrong/dropped, +4 marks awarded to all candidates who appeared.

Selection Process
Role of NTA
- NTA is responsible for registration of candidates, conduct of the test (CBT), hosting answer keys, inviting challenges, finalizing Answer Keys, preparing and declaring results, and hosting scorecards.
- The NTA Score of CUET (PG) – 2026 will be valid for admission to the academic year 2026-27 only.
- Scores and candidate data will be shared with all participating Universities/Institutions.
- Raw marks obtained in multi-shift papers will be converted to NTA Score using a normalization procedure based on Percentile Score (refer to Appendix V).
- Candidates must download their Score Cards from the NTA website; no physical scorecards will be dispatched.
Re-evaluation/Re-checking of Result
- The result will be processed based on the final answer keys verified by experts. No grievance regarding final answer keys after result declaration will be entertained.
- There shall be no re-evaluation or re-checking of the result.
Admission Process by Universities
- Merely appearing in CUET (PG) – 2026 does not guarantee admission to any university.
- Selection and admission will depend on fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in the merit list, medical fitness, verification of original documents, and other criteria prescribed by the individual University.
- After NTA declares the CUET (PG) 2026 result, participating Universities will announce their own counselling/admission schedule and merit lists based on the CUET (PG) 2026 score and their specific criteria.
- NTA has no role in the selection process, transfer/cancellation/conversion of seats, or refund of fees paid to counseling authorities. All admission-related queries should be directed to the concerned University.

Important Instructions & Common Mistakes to Avoid
General Instructions for Candidates
- Candidates must report at the Examination Center 90 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
- Take your seat immediately after the Examination Hall opens.
- Bring the e-Admit Card (downloaded and printed A4 size) with Self Declaration (Undertaking) duly filled in.
- Carry one passport-size photograph (same as uploaded) for pasting on the Attendance Sheet.
- Bring a simple transparent Ball Point Pen.
- Carry any one authorized photo ID (original, valid, non-expired): University/College Identity Card, PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar Card (with photograph), E-Aadhaar (with photograph), Ration Card (with photograph), or Bank Passbook (with Photograph).
- If your name has changed due to marriage or other events, carry the relevant document (e.g., Marriage Certificate, Divorce Decree, Legal Name Change Document).
- For PwBD candidates claiming relaxation, bring the PwBD certificate issued by an authorized medical officer as per Annexures in the Information Bulletin.
- Rough work must be done only on the Rough Sheets provided in the Examination Room/Hall. Write your name and application number on them and hand them over to the Invigilator upon completion of the test.
Unfair Means Practices and Breach of Examination Rules (Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means Act, 2024))
Any activity providing an unfair advantage during the examination is considered an Unfair Means Practice. These include, but are not limited to:
- Possession of prohibited items (stationery, communication devices, eatables, ornaments, study material).
- Impersonation (having someone else write the exam).
- Attempting the exam at a wrong examination centre.
- Violating any examination rules or directives issued by NTA.
- Assisting or receiving assistance in malpractices.
- Unauthorized communication with anyone other than examination staff.
- Threatening officials or candidates.
- Using unauthorized/illegal methods to influence the examination.
- Manipulation of examination documents (Confirmation Page, Application Form, e-Admit Cards, Score Card).
- Forceful entry or exit.
- Using electronic devices after entering the examination centre.

Punishments for Unfair Means Practices
If found guilty, candidates will face:
- Debarment: Up to 3 (Three) years from future public examinations.
- Criminal Action: Liable for criminal action as per law.
- Other Disciplinary Actions: Including cancellation of examination results or other administrative actions by examination authorities.
Scribe and Compensatory Time Provisions (for PwD/PwBD Candidates)
- Candidates with benchmark disabilities or those with less than 40% disability but with writing limitations may opt for their own scribe/reader/lab assistant or request one from NTA.
- The qualification of the candidate’s own scribe should be one step below the candidate’s qualification.
- Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided.
- A Physical Disability certificate (Unique Disability Identification (UDID)) issued by a notified medical authority must be uploaded with the application.
- Note: The NTA will not entertain requests for changes in category or sub-category (PwD/PwBD status) after application submission or result declaration.
